Timothy Walter Burton is an American director, film producer, writer and artist. Famous for horror and gothic fantasy films like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Frankenweenie. Burton has also directed superhero films Batman and Batman Returns, sci-fi Planet of the Apes, fantasy TV series Big Fish, musical adventure Charlie and Chocolate Factory, and fake movies. Alice in Wonderland and Miss Peregrine's Home for Special Children. Burton often worked with actor Johnny Depp and composer Danny Elfman, who composed all but three films made by Burton. Helena Bonham Carter, Burton's former domestic partner, has appeared in several of his films.
